I Just Signed My First Book Contract!
by Nicole Trilivas
Last evening, I met my agent to sign my book contract over champagne. Carrie, my agent, has been nothing but supportive and it was so wonderful to celebrate this moment. It was a long time coming: I wrote 4 books to get here. It wasn’t an easy road, but it was a great one. I’m so excited to see GIRLS WHO TRAVEL in print, hopefully in May 2015! Carrie and I ended the night with a little stroll to L.A. Burdick’s for chocolate penguins [because I signed with The Berkley Publishing Group (a division of Penguin)].
As if the night of great food, champagne, chocolate, and conversation wasn’t enough, I ended up sitting next to lovely woman on the train home. We ended up chitchatting the whole way: she works in the wine industry and was sharing her knowledge and telling me fun stories of her travels. When she found out I was writer who had just signed my first contract that night, she pulled out a bottle of bordeaux from her bag (she was carrying about 10 bottles as she had just been to an event) and insisted I have it, in celebration! How sweet is that?!
People are so freakin’ awesome sometimes. Life is so awesome. Keep going. You’ll get there. (I’m talking to myself and you.)
“Travel is my muse.”
