The Query Letter that Landed Me a Lit Agent
by Nicole Trilivas
When I was trying to find a literary agent I would compulsively google “examples of query letters,” so I’m posting my agent-landing query letter in the hopes of being helpful.
When I was offered representation by Carrie Pestritto at the Prospect Agency (who I ultimately accepted), I had five other literary agents who had requested and were reading the full manuscript at the time, so there was something about this letter that caught people’s attention. (I also include a short “elevator pitch,” which I’ve used for any in-person pitches at conferences and such.)
I’d be happy to take a look at anyone query letter and offer my (someone limited) advice, so email me or paste in the comments if you’re interested.
Best of luck writing!
